During Miles and Patrick’s scouting trip on the new Queen’s Ransom route in Arizona, they recorded some in-the-field audio clips and conversations for a unique look at their experience on the route. Bikes or Death just released the full episode, and you can listen to it here…

In December, Patrick Farnsworth of the Bikes or Death podcast and I took a trip to Phoenix, Arizona, to ride and document the Queen’s Ransom Route. Designed by John Schilling, the Queen’s Ransom is a 227-mile bikepacking route around the greater East Valley of metro Phoenix, Arizona. It weaves together many of the area’s popular singletrack trail systems, regional parks, and the Arizona National Scenic Trail amid stunning topography, rolling dirt roads, and challenging terrain.

Patrick brought his recording equipment along for the ride and we took some time to chat before, during, and after the trip to provide a unique perspective on the route. It’s a great additional resource to our published route guide, and only the second time Patrick has recorded an episode during a bikepacking trip like this. Listen to the full episode below.
