Pennsylvania-based bag maker Rambler Bags kicked off their Luxe Collection last year with an eye-catching limited run of bags with waxed and quilted burgundy detailing. The announcement stirred up some discussion on what “luxe” bikepacking bags means for our industry and if they are necessary. From our perspective, we think Rambler’s unique approach to bag design is awesome, and we’re here for it, so we’re excited to share their next drop today.
The belated Rambler Bags Luxe Spring/Summer 2023 Collection is made with vintage barkcloth upholstery and finished with duck canvas and pearl snaps. With preorder for their Fall/Winter Collection bike bags coming soon, they decided to limit the collection to just two limited edition bags: a Wald 137 Everyday Tote and a simple pouch/small handlebar bag. Both bags can be used on your bike and are functional off of it, making them a great addition to any type of bike setup or for day-to-day use.
The Wald 137 Everyday Tote has two external pockets, a larger flat internal pocket, foam padding on the base, adjustable hand/shoulder straps, and a classic ditty-bag style closure. It’s sized for a Wald 137 basket but there is no hardware to keep it in place, so you’ll need a bungee or strap to secure it. It’s 3″ x 8” x 12” (WxDxH), weighs 311 grams (11 oz), and costs $175 USD. The Simple Pouch Organizer/Handlebar Bag was originally designed like a simple clutch-style bag but with webbing along the back to easily attach it to a handlebar. It has two pearl snaps and a low seam construction for a light and no-frills bag. It is 7″ x 4″ x 2″ (WxTxD), weighs 56 grams (2 oz), and costs $34 USD. Check it out here.
