Hi! My name is Jenna. I was born to two non-cyclists in 1980 in the Rust Belt city of Buffalo, New York. I got my first bike, a Huffy Sea Princess, when I was five and began frankensteining thrift store three-speed finds in high school.

After a fair amount of exploring New York State and working at a couple of really great shops in Rochester, I moved out to Santa Cruz. Three long years working on bikes in California was all I had in me, and I hit the road again, this time to Tucson, Arizona. I always knew I’d find my home among the mountains and cacti, and it’s here in Tucson where I rebuilt a little nest: a bike shop called Transit Cycles.
I wear many hats, including that of a head mechanic with over 20 years of experience. I love mountain biking, underbiking, and bikepacking. I also enjoy going fast on empty gravel roads and the occasional single-speed death march. Route building, exploring, and losing myself in nature are why I wake up early in the morning.

This here is my Esker Hayduke LVS, and it’s a ton of fun. Its light weight and carrying capacity are why I’m choosing this bike for the Ride Across Arizona next month. I’ll be making some mods for the dirt roads, but the setup shown here is A-okay for Sonoran singletrack and beyond.
