The new Rennstahl 853 Trail Gravel Hawaii Edition features clearance for meaty tires, dropper post compatibility, some unique cable routing, and an eye-catching Hawaii-inspired paint job. Check it out here…
Germany’s Rennstahl just released a limited run of Hawaii Edition 853 Trail Gravel Bikes, and it packs in a number of features that caught our attention (beyond the loud paint job). It’s based around a Reynolds 853 steel frame, carbon fork, and geometry that Rennstahl claims “will have riders wondering if they really need a mountain bike at all.” The 853 Trail Gravel is built around 50mm tires but may be able to clear up to 54mm rubber, thanks to the drop chain stay design. There are rack, fender, and multiple bottle mounts, the complete build is specced exclusively with a Campagnolo EKAR 1×13 drivetrain, and they offer customization with cockpit components, wheels, and more.
There are only 50 of the limited edition 853 Trail Gravel Hawaii builds up for grabs, and Rennstahl has included carbon wheels and a seatpost at no extra charge. Pricing starts at €4,225 (~$4,500 USD) and shipping runs between €50 and €300, depending on where you are in Europe. From what we can tell, Rennstahl doesn’t ship outside of Europe, but interested buyers should contact them directly to confirm. The 853 Trail Gravel is also available in matte black for 2022, although it’s unclear what the pricing is for that option.
