Revelate Designs from Alaska just announced the redesigned Expedition Pogies, which they call the most versatile, warm, and feature-rich pogies available. Learn about the upgraded insulation, draft tube, dual-slider zipper, and other winter-proof updates here…
Building on a tried-and-true, decade-old design, the Revelate Expedition Pogies have proven themselves on countless winter expeditions around Alaska and well beyond, offering an unmatched set of features to keep your hands warm when the mercury drops. The team just announced a redesigned version that features several welcome updates, making them quite unlike anything else on the market.
At the heart of the updated Revelate Expedition Pogies is a Primaloft Gold Cross Core with Aerogel fill, the warmest insulation on the market, which happens to be made with 90% post-consumer recycled material. The outer shell is built from a three-layer waterproof-breathable fabric featuring a C-Zero water-repellent finish without fluorocarbons, which they say offers a complete weatherproof system suitable for temperatures from 25°F down to to -40°F. There’s also now a high-loft integrated draft tube at the handlebar opening for contained warmth and a separating dual-slider zipper that helps provide ventilation and easy installation/removal.
The Expedition Pogies weigh in at 24 ounces (680 grams) per pair and cost a hefty $239. They retain many of the best features from the earlier version, including strategically placed reflective trim for minimal headlamp glare, large zippered pockets for hand warmers/layers/snacks/electronics, easy-to-adjust cuff cinches, and handlebar loops with optional tool-free custom bar plugs.
