Rodeo Labs took customer feedback to heart after releasing their original Explorts Bibshorts and just announced version 1.1, which they consider a more refined version that are “some of the best shorts we’ve ridden in, period.” The Explorts 1.1 bibshorts have undergone a complete overhaul, with new fabrics, a new chamois, and a refined buckle system. About the only thing that hasn’t changed is the massive cargo pockets on each leg.

The new Explorts are offered in two fabrics/color combos: Bronzite is lighter weight and more compressive, and Black Tuxedo is designed to be soft and extremely comfortable. The Bronzite has less tendency to ride up the rider’s legs and is made of a rich chocolate brown Italian dyed Lycra blend fabric. The Black Tuxedo is not as compressive as some riders may be used to, designed to be non-restrictive and luxurious feeling. Rodeo added a bartack stitch where the shoulder straps meet to keep them accessible and revised the fabrics to prevent bunching and twisting. After testing a number of different chamois options over the years, they landed on a new chamois that isn’t overly padded and perfect for 10+ hour days or multi-day tours. The chamois and cut are both gender specific.
