After some manufacturing snafus, Ronnie and Tenzin are back with some fresh bags! The New Ron’s Bikes Rando Bag is Nutmeg Country’s take on the classic rando-style closure with some classic La Rons flair. See it here…

Ronnie and Tenzin of Ron’s Bikes are finally back in the bag game after a series of manufacturing difficulties over the past year. If you didn’t know, after a few years as customers, the alt-cycling power couple purchased Nutmeg Needleworks, a storied manufacturing facility in Waterbury, Connecticut. The factory produced most of their bags and soft goods, including the much-beloved Fabs Chest.

Alas, after some key employees departed from the business in early 2024, they were forced to shut down their operation of Nutmeg Needleworks and look for other manufacturing partners to produce their bags. Ronnie and Tenzin are dedicated to the high-quality manufacture of their bags, so finding a new production partner hasn’t been easy. However, it seems they’re finally starting to make some headway in that department with the new “Clap Trap” rando-style front bag.

The Fabio’s “Clap Trap” mounts on the handlebars and features an elasticated closure system that wraps around the stem bolts. The bag also features an internal pocket, a hard structure to eliminate excess drooping, only takes up 9 inches of handlebar space, and requires just 6 inches of clearance above the front tire. The bags capacity is currently stated at 3.7 liters.

The Ron’s Bikes Rando bag, the “Clap Trap,” will debut in the all over print black tulips X-Pac, cotton faced tan X11 X-Pac, and a slightly lighter tan polyester faced X50 X-Pac. The bags will hit the Ron’s Bikes site at noon EST today, January 10th, 2025, along with a variety of other small goods coming back into production. They are priced at $190 USD and made in Vermont.
