Hidden in plain sight at Eurobike 2024, SCOTT teased a new lineup of fully rigid flat-bar gravel bikes with some interesting features, including an adjustable head tube angle set and funky graphics. Learn more about the SCOTT Scale GR RC here…
I missed it at Eurobike but got word that SCOTT had teased a dedicated gravel/adventure mountain bike lineup. Apparently, the SCOTT Scale GR lineup was hidden in plain sight at their booth, overshadowed by the apocalyptic show bike. Someone sent me a message last week about it, and I messaged Gustav (@Dangerholm) to get the scoop. Note that the photos on the dark background are by Gustav.
Some of you may have seen Gustav’s green/gold Scale RC “Super Gravel” last year with Scott’s new rigid MTB fork. As he explained, “While I love drop-bar gravel bikes, I’m also a huge fan of using hardtails or rigid MTBs for gravel-style riding. I never thought they’d bring complete bikes to production, though.” There were three different Scale GR models at the Scott Eurobike booth: one aluminum frame/carbon fork base model, one middle-tier model in full carbon, and then the RC version shown here. There aren’t a ton of details available about these bikes. My contact at SCOTT mentioned that this would be launched later this year with a full campaign.
However, here’s what we know. The Scale GR RC features a Scale Carbon HMF frame with a Syncros headset that allows you to adjust the head angle by 0.6°. It also has the full Syncros Cable Integration System and comes equipped with something called “Advanced Shock & Standing Damping System,” although we’re not exactly sure what that entails. The frame is paired with a matching full-carbon fork with three-pack mounts and post brake caliper mounts. Here are the specs:
