I met Eli Santos of Seldom Seen at the MADE bike show last year, and at the time, he was just getting his brand off the ground. It’s been exciting to see him put in the work and offer new bag options with a unique look for folks in Montana and beyond. Today, Eli launched a refreshed website, released several new designs, and updated his existing bags with fresh color options. The only bag that hasn’t changed is the standard-sized Fika hip pack, but otherwise, everything has been updated in some way.
The Gleaner Tote, which is a kind of do-everything travel/shopping bag, has been tweaked to work equally well in a Wald 139 basket, which is great to see. It has a zippered top, a water-resistant front pocket to stash your wallet/keys/phone, and a hidden secondary stash spot. There are exterior daisy chains, and you can order it with a “Bike Bod” that includes straps to secure it in a basket.
The Rift Duffel is brand new, offering 40L of TSA-approved storage with an origami design that lets it fold down or expand to full size. Its expanded form provides an additional 5L of storage. The duffel includes a padded shoulder strap that stays securely in place when you’re on the move. It’s built with beefy YKK Aquaguard zippers and aluminum hardware, and there are two side pockets and a key clip. Eli offers seven stock colors, and made-to-order versions are available. The new Anything Straps are designed to be integrated with every Seldom Seen bag. In short, they are made from a bungee loop with a cord lock on one end and a small aluminum strut on the other, providing an easy way to girth-hitch items in place, secure contents in a basket, or even lock down your pant leg while riding. The bungee is also user-replaceable if you start strapping too hard.
