According to 7Mesh, Zac signed on to document Mathos’s attempt to ride across the rugged and wild peninsula on the condition that he could have full creative control of the filming portion of the endeavor. Zac’s vision was to create something beyond the the expected. His approach was to turn it into something “more entertaining and insightful than a conventional point-to-point travelogue, even if it meant roping in Mathos’ friends, family, and maybe an actor or two, to help tell the story.”

The resulting video, shared in full above, is split into seven mini-episodes, each with its own distinctive look and feel. It aptly depicts the various phrases of any adventure, from the early “Can’t Stop Me” elation to the mid-ride reality of “The Come Down” to “The Moment You Think About Everyone Who Said You Wouldn’t Make It” segment when the end is nearly in sight. In all, the video is a unique and engaging watch with Mathos at the center, and it shines some light on why ultra-endurance athletes do the things they do.
