Giving users the ability to turn mechanical Transmission (eagle 90 and 70) into an AXS system, SRAM’s new GX Eagle AXS Upgrade Kit is sure to entice a few toward wireless shifting. Find details here…
Interested in turning your mechanical SRAM derailleur into an electronically actuated AXS one? Well, SRAM has got just the thing for you! As of today, SRAM offers a new wireless upgrade kit to mechanical GX users looking to ditch those pesky cables. With the SRAM GX Eagle AXS Upgrade Kit, users can convert mechanical Transmission (eagle 90 and 70) to GX AXS Transmission.

Including an AXS-enabled derailleur body, AXS Battery, and AXS Pod Controller, users will simply remove the threaded cage assembly and mount bolt from their mechanical derailleur and reinstall their new GX Eagle AXS Transmission derailleur body. And, just like that, for the low price of $550 USD, you too can have seamless, bluetooth actuated 12-speed shifting!
Though many of us have mixed feelings about the advent and proliferation of electronic shifting in the bike industry, there’s no arguing that SRAM’s recent designs have emphasized a sense of user access and re-use. While there are questions about the need for wireless shifting, allowing customers to re-use portions of what are entirely usable components is something we don’t see too much of from large companies like SRAM, so that element of their recent design philosophy is appreciated.
