As the storied Stagecoach 400 bikepacking event approaches its 15th edition in Southern California this spring, filmmaker Gregg Dunham is teasing a five-part documentary series and seeking community funding to help complete post-production. Watch the trailer and back the project here…
Following a monumental effort to capture and share the story of the iconic Stagecoach 400 bikepacking event in California, filmmaker Gregg Dunham just released the official trailer for an upcoming five-part documentary series about the 15-year-old bikepacking challenge. Tracking riders through the Southern California mountains, desert, and coast, he filmed the event from an intimate perspective, offering an inside look at the highs, the doubts, the bad decisions, and the moments when everything starts to unravel.
The official trailer above paints a vivid picture of why the Stagecoach 400 is still important 15 years into its history. Filming is all wrapped, but to get the series across the finish line and publish it this spring, Gregg is looking to the bikepacking community to help him fund the post-production phase of the documentary, including editing, sound design, custom music, and color finishing.
If you have the means to support Gregg’s Stagecoach 400 documentary and to help him share the story of this influential bikepacking event, please visit his crowdfunding campaign on Seed and Spark. In addition to making the series possible, backers will receive early access to episodes, private screening links, and invitations to virtual and in-person screenings, depending on their level of support. The completed series will be released publicly after the campaign concludes.
