“Starting to Dream Again” is an uplifting video from Bowhead featuring adaptive athlete Dave Sagal testing his new Bowhead RX prototype on a massive 12-hour journey through the rugged Canadian backcountry around Banff National Park. Watch it here…
In Starting to Dream Again, we meet Dave Sagal and join him on his very first test ride aboard a prototype of the new Bowhead RX adaptive mountain bike. Rather than a simple shakedown ride on a local rail trail, he chooses an ambitious route for his inaugural outing, the Goat Creek Trail. It’s a classic route through beautiful Banff National Park that links Canmore to Banff, weaving past Mount Rundle and descending into one of the Canadian Rockies’ most scenic valleys.
Dave is joined by friend Sally Stanier, and the pair take on a 12-hour, 50-kilometer push that includes frigid creek crossings, many technical sections, and a real feeling of being out there. In Bowhead’s words, the video “captures the feeling of returning to trails once thought unreachable and the freedom that comes with riding again.” Watch the 13-minute video above to follow Dave on what he says is one of the best days he’s had since the 2019 snowboarding accident that resulted in an injury to his spinal cord.
