The popular State 4130 All-Road is now available in a slick “Matte Olive” color with your choice of flat bars or drop bars and complete build kits starting at just $899. Find everything you need to know here…
The State 4130 All-Road was originally released four years ago as the brand’s first offering within their new Offroad Division lineup. It earned a lot of attention for its $1,000 price tag and was well-equipped with a 4130 Chromoly Steel frame and fork, loads of mounting points, the option for both 700c and 650b wheels, and geometry that looked suitable for all-day rides.
I published a review two years back, which you can read here, and it ended up being one of our most-commented articles of 2022, with over 100 comments to date. To summarize, the State 4130 All-Road is a step in the right direction for sub-$1,000 bikes, and it’s a solid platform with several promising features. While I had some issues with the budget State-branded components, the bike shows a lot of promise for affordable bikepacking bikes.
Nothing significant has changed since the release, but State has released some new color options, flat-bar builds, and a compatible 40mm gravel suspension fork. The latest is a snazzy “Matte Olive” version of the 4130 All-Road, which features the same promising specs and features and a refreshing $899 price tag for the complete build option, with your choice of flat bars or drop bars. State offers the option to add a secondary wheelset (650b or 700c), complete with tires, rotors, and a cassette, for just $399.
It appears it’s still specced with a State-branded Sensah drivetrain, a big 42T chainring, and mechanical disc brakes, but several optional upgrades are available, including their carbon Monster Fork for $299, the gravel suspension fork for $350, and the entire drivetrain to a SRAM Apex AXS setup for $999.
The new State 4130 All-Road in Matte Olive costs $899 with your choice of 700c or 650b wheels and is available now from StateBicycle.com. The flat-bar version is available here, and the frameset (frame + fork) costs just $429 here.
