One part news, one part product hoorah, and three parts public service announcement, this post is here to remind people that the fine folks at Surly have some great wool apparel… and now there’s a few new things too.

As stinky bikepackers, we love merino wool. There is simply no better material for warding off the funk, keeping warm (or cool), and basically living in for extended time periods. Over the past couple years, a few Surly products have stood the test. Namely their long-sleeve merino jersey, the wool beanie, and their terrific socks. Now that they have a few new designs, go get you some:

Surly Wool Socks

I’ve used their socks on many a trip, including one pair for a dirt romp across southern Spain followed by a jaunt around Uganda and Rwanda. After all that, still no holes. Now they have a whole slew of new designs to keep your feet toasty.

Their long-sleeve merino jersey (both men’s and women’s) is another excellent piece. Gin’s had hers for exactly two years now and it’s still going strong. I’ve also put some miles on the long sleeve Raglan and highly recommend it too.
