Threefold Objects in British Columbia, Canada, is a new bicycle accessory brand, and their flagship product is an intriguing stainless basket that’s now available in two sizes. Take a closer look here…
Owned and operated by Logan Mohr, Threefold Objects is a British Columbia-based bicycle accessory brand that has been teasing a new basket system since last fall. Instead of being constructed from metal wires or tubes, the Threefold Objects baskets are made from laser-cut stainless steel sheets, which are then formed and welded into place. The various cutouts and slots offer nearly limitless mounting options, and the baskets can be zip-tied to the rack you already own or attached directly to your bike via their Basket Assembly kit.
The Little Basket measures 9.5 x 6.5 x 1.5” (240 x 165 x 38mm), weighs 1.3 pounds (590 grams), and is made from 304 stainless steel with a raw tumbled finish. The Big Basket measures 11.5 x 8.5 x 1.5” (292 x 215 x 38mm) and weighs 1.8 pounds (850 grams). The Assembly Kits include the baskets and a mounting base, struts, and all necessary hardware to mount the system to your fork. The kits are compatible with most bikes with threaded mounting points on their blades and a crown mounting hole. The Little Basket Assembly kit weighs 2.8 pounds (1.28 kilograms) and is rated for 11 pounds (5 kilograms). The Big Basket Assembly weighs 3.4 pounds (1.5 kilograms) and has the same load rating.
The Little Basket, Big Basket, base, and struts are fabricated in Abbotsford, British Columbia, by Paramount Components. Welding and surface finishing are done by Logan in Vancouver, BC. The support struts are made by Nitto in Japan, and the daruma Taiwan-made compression hardware is sourced from Velo Orange. Nuts and bolts are made in China. The Little Basket cots $105 CAD, the Big Basket costs $125, the Little Basket Assembly costs $305, and the Big Basket Assembly costs $325. Currently, orders will only be shipped within Canada, and in-person pickup is available.
