After putting them through the ringer last year, Cass was a fan of the Bontrager Flatline shoes. As a flat shoe for bikepacking and trail riding, he found them to be grippy and durable, and his review was quite positive. Bontrager just released an updated version of the flatline, which promises even better durability and breathability than the original. The Flatline is now made from a new synthetic upper material with a reinforced toe box, while retaining the same Vibram sole and tread pattern found on the previous version.
The new inForm Performance last provides a relaxed fit, flatter foot position, and features a shock-absorbing EVA midsole for added comfort on long rides and big hits. They’ve also added a small heel loop to make putting them on a little easier and are offered in a range of new colors: Black, Charcoal, and Olive Grey/Black. The Flatline has seen a $10 price increase and now retails for $139 USD.
