The Velo Orange Porteur Rack now features a mounting hardware upgrade that increases its load capacity to 50 pounds! With added struts that attach to fork eyelets, this classically styled front rack just got even more useful…
Made of stainless steel and designed around the classic aesthetics of the hardworking newspaper delivery bikes of Paris, the Velo Orange Porteur rack has long been a best seller at the Maryland-based bike company. However, a recent revision has made this classically styled rack even more capable, as every Porteur rack now includes dedicated fork blade mounting hardware.
By utilizing the mid-fork braze-ons (or “side eyelets”) common on many touring and gravel bikes, the new four-point mounting system creates a stable platform for the large Porteur rack platform. The added support struts are said to increase stability and rigidity, officially rating the rack for a hefty 50-pound (22.6-kilogram) load. The new hardware is included with all Porteur Racks ordered moving forward. Velo Orange will also include the original tang that mounts to the fork crown in case you don’t need the full weight capacity. The Velo Orange Porteur rack retails at $189 USD, comes in polished silver, has a 36cm x 29cm platform, and weighs 2.38 pounds (1.08 kilograms) including hardware.
