Velo Orange’s Yakimono Neutrino, a custom project by bike racer and ceramicist Shane Sellers in Baltimore, is pure eye candy. Read on to find photos and more about it…
Baltimore local Shane Sellers, a practiced ceramicist, former bike racer, teacher, and veritable Velo Orange fanatic, is at it again with his Yakimono Neutrino, a mini velo that combines his passion for cycling and art. Custom firing the grips and saddle, Shane decked out his Yakimono Neutrino in a variety of bike-specific pieces that made an otherwise intriguing mini-velo even more alluring.
The overlapping interests don’t stop at the components, however, as Shane utilized the mini bike’s ample carrying capacity to front load a number of pieces he’d made in a custom display affixed to the front of the bike. Taking inspiration from the Japanese term, Yakimono, meaning “grilled or fried,” Shane’s fired pieces of art sat well in a much beloved and storied rig.
For more on Shane and this cool custom piece of art, read on at the Velo Orange blog.
