This morning’s edition of Weekend Snapshot unites riders savoring sunny days in three countries. Find vibrant scenes from Mexico, Germany, and the United States and use the short form to contribute to our crowdsourced series by sharing a photo from one of your recent rides here…
In today’s Weekend Snapshot, we catch up with a handful of folks from our global bikepacking community who made the most of mild weather and got out to spin the pedals over the weekend. Zoom in on two-wheeled excursions in Berlin, Oaxaca, and Colorado below. Once you’ve checked them out, take a moment to share a shot from one of your recent getaways using the form at the bottom of this post. Weekend Snapshot wouldn’t exist without our readers!
Berlin, Germany
By Georg Bessinger
You might not see it in the picture, but spring seems to be around the corner in Berlin after all! In anticipation, we gathered some friends from the Pizza Gravel community and headed east. In the end, we even crossed the border to Poland after a nice but tough ride along rivers and lakes and treated ourselves with regional specialities like pierogi or roulade. And, of course, a riverside snack break was not to be missed!
Oaxaca, Mexico
By Logan Watts
Cass sessioning “the crux” of a favorite local singletrack climb right outside of Oaxaca de Juarez last week. Sometimes, it takes two tries, and other times eight, but he usually gets it.
Colorado
By Taf McMurry
This recent overnighter has the contrast of desert vegetation, red rocks, green waters of the Arkansas River, and the snowy peaks of the Sangre de Cristo Range for a scenic route. Add an epic campsite, a cozy campfire, plus a full moon to make for a textbook night out. I have set a yearlong goal to do a bikepacking trip every month!
Send Us Your Weekend Snapshot
We’ll be selecting three photos per week to feature in Weekend Snapshot. Send yours along for consideration, and if it’s selected, we’ll be in touch! Note: We prefer 3:2 ratio landscape-oriented photos.
