Cevennes, France

The GR 66 is usually a multi-day hiking route or a two-day bikepacking ride around the Aigoual Mount, in the Cévennes mountains in the South of France. This trail passes through remotes valleys and villages and goes to the summit of the Cévennes. I grew up in these mountains, where nature reigns supreme.

Bogota, Colombia

I spent the weekend exploring the Colombian capital the best way I know how: by bicycle, of course. Fortunately, I was in good company, as each Sunday, the city limits major thoroughfares to bicycle and pedestrian traffic only. Thousands of cyclists take to the streets to enjoy a bit of sport, chisme, and car-free liberation. They call it Ciclovia. I call it a vision for a future where every city is car-free, and everyone can breathe clean air and cycle and walk freely and fall in love on the street. And if that city happens to be Bogotá, then I hope they’re all enjoying a big cup of salpicon, coffee tinto, and a hot, fresh buñuelo.
