Pack your bags and join fellow readers on their rides around Washington, Utah, and the Netherlands in our latest installment of Weekend Snapshot. See what three folks from our global community were up to in their recent time off and share a photo from one of your getaways here…
The views are diverse in today’s Weekend Snapshot, which showcases reader-submitted vignettes from the canyonlands of Utah, the mountains of Washington state, and the estuaries of the Netherlands. We invited you to browse all three of this week’s selected shots below, then continue scrolling to find some related posts and a quick form to share a photo from one of your adventures on two wheels.
Washington State, USA
By Hillary Clark
Despite smoke from wildfires across the west, Chris and I set out from Winthrop to Conconully over remote and rough roads. While not exactly our backyard, we live close enough that it wasn’t a huge surprise to run into more than one friend on route. One of these encounters led us to the best swimming hole we’ve ever found, complete with a natural waterslide. Add small town mining history, wolf howls, and great campsites, and the whole thing was just what we needed from a weekend trip.
Utah, USA
By Julien and Marie
We are riding from Canada to Ushuaia ,and we recently took some time in Moab to ride the Kane Creek Pritchett Canyon Loop. Thanks a lot to BIKEPACKING.com for designing this route; it was stunning and challenging!
Westerschelde, Netherlands
By David Hanneuse
A little detour to get to the start of the Western Front Way in Nieuwpoort brought us along the Westerschelde, where we were gifted vast vistas of the estuary and the opportunity to spot some buffaloes (that used to be endemic to Europe at the end of the last ice age) and heaps of shorebirds that are preparing their migration south and one of the hundred-ish seals that call this area home out fishing.
Send Us Your Weekend Snapshot
We’ll be selecting three photos per week to feature in Weekend Snapshot. Send yours along for consideration, and if it’s selected, we’ll be in touch! Note: We prefer 3:2 ratio landscape-oriented photos.
