We’re off to three distinct corners of the globe for today’s Weekend Snapshot. This time around, our readers take us to trails that snake their way through the jungles of Borneo, high into the Alps of Switzerland, and across the Northwoods of Wisconsin. Check out what three folks from our global community got up to over the weekend below, followed by a link to share your snapshots at the bottom of this post.
Long Seridan, Sarawak, Borneo, Malaysia
By Pedro Blasco (@0ranghutan)
I spent the weekend bikepacking around Borneo, Malaysia for the first time since the start of the pandemic. It was supposed to be rainy season, so I didn’t plan any off-road route. Mud is the worst enemy of bikepackers in the tropics, believe me. But, finding drier conditions than expected, I improvised a ride between Limbang and Long Lama that turned out to be awesome.
Grindelwald, Switzerland
By Eyal Li (@eyall_)
As we approached the summit of a pass before Grindelwald, Switzerland, Dan and I were treated to splendid alpenglow on the face of Grosse Scheidegg. This was one of a dozen or so breathtaking sights on the Hope 1000 route through the Swiss Alps.
Northern Wisconsin
By Benjamin Miller
A scene from a bikepacking trip to celebrate 50 revolutions of the sun. The weather was not cooperative, but we had beautiful scenery and some trail magic along the way.
Send Us Your Weekend Snapshot
We’ll be selecting three photos per week to feature in Weekend Snapshot. Send yours along for consideration, and if it’s selected, we’ll be in touch! Note: we prefer 3:2 ratio landscape oriented photos.
