The sun setting on the Balcón de Pilatos, Sierra de Urbasa-Andía, during my fall bikepacking trip along the Vuelta de Vasco, which ended last week. It was one of my favorite days along the route, especially with the surprise appearance of this magnificent view at the end of the day.

Imagine riding across the largest salt flat in the world. The Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia (3,700 m.a.s.l.) was an incredible place and definitely a highlight of our trip. Kilometers and kilometers of salt, lots of sun, infinite whiteness, and chilly mornings and nights. At sunset, the salt turned orange and I felt as if I was living in a dream. What a place to ride a bike!

A scene from seven days of cycling alone in southern Tunisia. I rode 850 kilometers along 60% trails and 40% roads. The landscape was one of of desert, oases, and typical villages. I received a magnificent welcome from Tunisians in the face of the October 2022 heat.
