For our final Weekend Snapshot of 2022, we’re sharing another three reader-submitted photos from bikepacking campouts in various corners of the globe. This time, we highlight quick getaways in Oregon, Poland, and North Carolina. See them all here, and find a link to submit images from your rides to be shared in 2023…

As we close out 2022 this week, we’re serving up one last reminder of the power of the overnighter by highlighting three Weekend Snapshots submitted by folks from across our global bikepacking community. Today, we take a peek at two trips on opposite sides of the United States and one from our friends from Coffee Tea Trip in Poland (creators of the beautiful short film Rust of Nature). Find all three below, then use the form at the bottom of this post to share a photo from a recent trip of your own!

Bullards Beach State Park, Bandon, Oregon

Weekend Snapshot

By Michael Roderick (@bandon.bicycle.works)

It may have been mid-December, but that didn’t stop us from getting out there and having some fun. We chose to keep it easy and do some “backyard bikecamping” close to home. The ride across Bandon was a breeze to the Coquille River Lighthouse, then we got to have the cyclist campground all to ourselves for the night in Bullards Beach State Park—although we did get many visits from an overly friendly raccoon. Bandon Bicycle Works is a local adventure bicycle shop on the Southern Oregon Coast that specializes in service and repair. We see many bicycle tourists passing through year-round, so we’re always trying to get out and explore when we can!

Lubuskie, Poland

Weekend Snapshot

By Wojtek Waloch (@coffeeteatrip)

My friend and I went on our first frosty camping trip this season. Although there was not much snow and the views still looked more like autumn than winter, negative temperatures and adventures ensured it was as interesting as ever. Night rides through ravines, a deformed derailleur, and an owl hooted us to sleep. A little journey and a lot of memories to tell by the fire.

Ellijay, Georgia

Weekend Snapshot

By Zach Price

Glamorous bike lineup on the last morning of a weekend spent reconnecting with some good friends in the North Georgia mountains after most of a year spent away. Clear but cold weather combined with high creeks from the previous week’s rain led to some shoes a little too close to the campfire, but a beer run over to Mulberry Gap helped keep spirits high. Couldn’t ask for much more!
