In today’s installment, we catch up with three riders who got out for some time away on the bike over the weekend in British Columbia, New Mexico, and Oregon. Sarah Point, Sunshine Coast, British Columbia

Weekend Snapshot, Miles Arbour

By Miles Arbour (@milesarbour)

I’d been meaning to check out the newly built hut at Sarah Point, the northern terminus of the Sunshine Coast Trail, for some time. So, when my Instagram friend Taryn decided to visit Powell River, it was game on. It wasn’t an easy ride getting out there, but the views are spectacular and the weather was perfect. Plus, we snagged the last three cinnamon buns from Nancy’s Bakery on our way back to town.

Oakridge, Oregon, USA

Weekend Snapshot, Rob Knoth

This past weekend, our family scoped out the backroads and trails beyond Oakridge on a simple overnighter. We kicked it off by finally meeting a dear friend made over the virtual world of Instagram in real life (lookin’ at you, Liv!) and then touring out as a team through damp singletrack, up past an earthen dam, and spending the rest of the day winding along the length of a reservoir. We made camp along the banks of the Willamette as the moon rose.

Las Cruces, New Mexico

Weekend Snapshot, Jody McGee

By Jody McGee (@jodylmcgee)

For a quick mid-winter break, my friend Kellie and I met in Las Cruces to ride the Monumental Loop. Unfortunately, a significant wind event cut our trip short, but we had a great time checking out the northern loop. Highlights included a stop for a famous green chili cheeseburger, the singletrack in the Dona Ana trail system, camping under a near-full moon, and an early morning hike in a yucca forest.
