This Monday morning installment of Weekend Snapshots whisks us away to Scotland, Utah, and Germany to find out what three readers from our global bikepacking community were up to during their recent weekends away on two wheels. Find photos from their rides and use the short form to share an image from one of your trips here…
Amid the changing seasons, folks from across our worldwide bikepacking community found time to get out and pedal over the weekend. For today’s Weekend Snapshot, we zoom in on reader-submitted scenes from three countries in the Northern Hemisphere. Take a peek at trips from Bear Lake in Utah, the Darnaway Divide Trail in Scotland, and the Chiemgau Alps in Germany below, then continue on to find a form you can use to share something from a recent getaway followed by some related posts for further reading.
Bear Lake, Utah
By Oliver Hulme
Part of a overnighter I hope to get on the site. After barreling down epic rural dirt roads, you are greeted with massive views of Bear Lake, the Carribean of the Rockies (color, not water temp). Gotta love a steel bike on the beach!
Morayshire, Scotland
By Jim Sutherland
The Darnaway Divide Trail with Ian was a lovely way to explore trails to the north of Grantown on Spey and celebrate the equinox. Varied trails both days, great food, and the autumn colours by The Findhorn.
Chiemgau Alps, Germany
By Udo Kewitsch
Sometimes, I have to go out for one night. Just my tent, my sleepbag, and one million stars with me. Great moments that you can’t buy—just do it!
Send Us Your Weekend Snapshot
We’ll be selecting three photos per week to feature in Weekend Snapshot. Send yours along for consideration, and if it’s selected, we’ll be in touch! Note: We prefer 3:2 ratio landscape-oriented photos.
