This time around, we head to rural Wisconsin, a bustling Spanish city, and a remote village in beautiful Albania. We recently rode through drenching storms and gorgeous fall colors on the second annual Gravel Pizza Overnighter in the Northwoods. The destination for this community bikepacking event was a pizza farm in the middle of nowhere where we dried out, warmed up, and spent the evening in a renovated barn with music, pizza, campfires, and cool fall weather.

Bo and I are headed to Teruel to ride Montañas Vacías, but on the way, we stopped by Barcelona to see a friend and go beach camping for their birthday. They were busy most of the day, so we elected to ride the 100 kilometers out to the beach beforehand to experience some of the lovely Barcelona gravel. Great food, great people, great swimming, and great riding made for a great weekend. It was a 10/10 weekend. Volveremos Barcelona, for sure.

Doberdoll, Albania

We did a week-long bikepacking trip in the Balkans starting from Kosovo, and this magnificent road and mountain village in Albania was the final highlight of the trip. Dobërdoll village is located in a “bowl” surrounded by mountains, and it is popular hiking destination. This was my third trip to the Balkans, and this area has been in my to-do list every trip. Finally, I got to visit this area.
