Last Call for Wit Slingers Bag Orders!?

Bags from Wit Slingers have popped up everywhere over the past several years, adorning award-winning show bikes, taking on many of the world’s toughest bikepacking races, and serving as the finishing touch on various Readers’ Rigs. This comes as no surprise, as Leipzig, Germany-based maker Tijmen Kervers is unquestionably one of the best in the space. He has an impeccable design sense and a unique creative vision, and he meticulously crafts everything that comes out of his small shop.

Unfortunately, the Wit Slingers chapter of Tijmen’s journey as a maker and designer may be coming to a close. According to an Instagram post earlier this morning, “I’m closing orders as of December 31st. At least for a while, maybe forever. I have some big life changes lined up, which require a workshop move and all that comes with it. If you’ve been on the fence about a bag for a while, this is your sign! I’m a never-say-never kinda gal, but I’m not counting on Wit Slingers resurfacing in its current form, so it might be now or never.”

After orders close at the end of the month, Tijmen will be busy sewing in January and February, but what comes next is still up in the air. As an admirer of his work, I’m hopeful that he can continue with Wit Slingers if that’s what he decides is the right path forward. And if that isn’t ultimately the case, the whole BIKEPACKING.com wishes him the best with his next chapter, which we’ll be excited to follow.
