Released today, Wolf Tooth Components’ Supple Lite Bar Tape is a slimmer, lightweight alternative to the Supple Bar Tape they announced last year. The Supple Lite Bar Tape is made from the same EVA foam compound but is half as thick (2.5mm) and still 40mm wide. Wolf Tooth claims the new tape hits a sweet spot between their thicker tape and traditional road bar tape. It’s designed to be soft and tacky, comfortable for long rides, and grippy in all conditions thanks to a durable rubberized finish.
The side profile of the Supple Lite Bar Tape has a raised center ridge with tapered edges. The taper allows it to be overlapped when applied and still have an even, smooth feel. The amount of overlap can be increased or decreased from the recommended 15mm overlap to dial in the feel of the tape. A thin strip of 3M adhesive backing is included on the tape for easy installation. Bar plugs and polyurethane tape are included in the box for a clean finishing touch.
