Just released, the new Zpacks Free Trio Tent is a two or three-person freestanding tent designed with versatility in mind, and it weighs just over two pounds. Check it out here…

Florida-based Zpacks has been on a roll recently with new product announcements, including several ultralight shelters, but it appears there’s still room for at least one more. The new Zpacks Free Trio Tent is a two or three-person ultralight, freestanding tent that’s perfect for anyone who finds themselves camping on tough surfaces. Sand, bedrock, and snow are no match for the Free Trio’s H-Pole freestanding frame design that doesn’t require stakes and excels in high-winds.

The Free Trio is made from Dyneema Composite, has a fully enclosed bug screen, a bathtub floor, and lineloc adjusters are pre-installed to all tie-outs. All seams come taped from Zpacks, so no need to seam seal your tent at home, plus the Dyneema fabric is waterproof (PFC free) without the need of DWR coatings, so it won’t wear out. There are doors on each side of the tent, large rainbow shaped zippers, internal mesh pockets, and according to Zpacks a groundsheet is not required due to the heavier weight Dyneema used on the floor. The Free Trio is offered in a variety of different colours and in two different weights of body fabric. Check out the full spec breakdown below.
