Jackson Long’s 2024 Tour Divide Bike Check (Video)

The Tour Divide is one of the most anticipated bikepacking events each year. It challenges riders with a 2,745-mile route between Banff, Alberta, and the US/Mexico border in New Mexico. Each year, riders from all across the world flock to Canada for the grand depart, which is always held on the second Friday in June, meaning this year’s grand depart is just two days away. There are more than 200 riders registered for live tracking—some will be chasing records, and others will be touring the route at a more leisurely pace.
Thirty-year-old Jackson Long is among the folks lining up in Banff this Friday, and he put together a detailed bike check video showcasing the bike and gear he’ll be bringing along for his ride. You can dig into everything below, but before that, he also launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund a documentary film project covering the 2024 Tour Divide that you can learn more about here. Fifty percent of the funds raised are going to the Be Good Foundation and The Love Like Ky Foundation, and the rest will help Jackson and his team cover filming permits, travel and lodging costs, and film equipment.
