In the latest short film from EF Pro Cycling and Thereabouts, professional cyclist Lachlan Morton heads back to the Colorado Trail for a second attempt at besting the blazing-fast record time set by our own Neil Beltchenko in 2016. The film follows Lachlan as he traverses the route’s rugged 539 miles of off-road, high-elevation tracks between Denver and Durango, mixing beautiful footage of his ride through the Rocky Mountains with voiced-over reflections on his ride.

Lachlan completed the route in a breakneck speed of just 3 days, 10 hours, and 15 minutes, though per the Colorado Trail Race’s rules, Neil’s official fastest known time (FKT) of 3 days, 19 hours, and 50 minutes stands as the official course record due to the presence of a camera crew following Lachlan’s incredible media-supported effort. You can watch the film and find a few stills from his ride below.

“I got it done. I went fast. I rewrote the memory.”
