Chris had intended to tackle the route solo, but he ended up meeting a new friend and riding companion, Gordon, and the pair completed the route together in 20 days. Reflecting on the experience, Chris wrote, “Overall, it was a tremendous experience filled with joy, suffering, scorching heat, freezing cold, companionship, camaraderie, and overwhelming beauty. I had so much support while doing this route from strangers and friends.”
