In mid-October of last year, YouTuber Chris Wilson of the PNW Bikepacking channel headed to the Grand Canyon State to ride the full length of the diverse and esteemed Arizona Trail 800 route, which he says lived up to its reputation of being physically and mentally demanding.
Chris had intended to tackle the route solo, but he ended up meeting a new friend and riding companion, Gordon, and the pair completed the route together in 20 days. Reflecting on the experience, Chris wrote, “Overall, it was a tremendous experience filled with joy, suffering, scorching heat, freezing cold, companionship, camaraderie, and overwhelming beauty. I had so much support while doing this route from strangers and friends.”
The nearly hour-long video above documents Chris and Gordon’s incredible journey along the Arizona Trail. Kick back and enjoy Chris’s presentation of the exceptionally beautiful route in his usual style that blends insight, positivity, and humor.
