Confessions from the Baja Divide (Video)
In her latest video, Belén Castelló asks each of her riding partners to share a secret confession of a concern they brought into the group’s recent bikepacking journey along the Baja Divide. Her 30-minute “Confessions from the Baja Divide” shares those and a video recap of each segment of their two-month ride. Watch it here…

The Baja Divide has become one of the most ridden (and documented) bikepacking routes in the world. It definitely contains the right ingredients for a demanding yet rewarding adventure in a reasonably easy-to-access location.
For us? This route had been in the back of our minds for a while, and some free riding time opened up in the winter earlier this year: the perfect season to submerge ourselves in the Baja Californian desert.
On a quest to cover most of the official track as a group of four, I started the trip with a mild concern in mind that I didn’t want to confess to the rest of the team members. Riding with company is never like riding solo, as compromise and patience are key to keeping the group glued together. This made me realize that everyone else was also most likely approaching the adventure with undisclosed concerns or personal goals of their own, and I wanted to capture those on video.
Privately, I asked Tristan, Sam, and Bec to share their secret confession to the camera before summarizing each of the sections we’d just covered. I wouldn’t be listening or checking the footage until I’d be back home to make sure they’d feel more comfortable opening up. And so we all did!
Our group of bike travelers who kind of knew what they were getting into, but also kind of didn’t invites you to us on our somewhat chaotic journey through the Baja California peninsula. Welcome to the confession chair.
