Explore Your Boundaries (Film)

Markus Stitz’s latest film, Explore Your Boundaries, highlights the joys of winter cycling and shares his mission to find a sense of adventure despite the COVID-19 restrictions in Scotland. Watch it here…

Explore Your Boundaries is a film inspired by the collection of routes Markus Stitz (@reizkultur) and Mark Beaumont (@mrmarkbeaumont) collection of planned during the second COVID-19 lockdown in Scotland. The routes ranged from 30 to 315 miles (48 to 505 km) and were all based around Scottish boundaries. The idea for the film was born after Markus and Mark cycled around the Edinburgh city boundary in January.

With an unseasonable amount of snow this winter, Markus jumped on the opportunity to document the unique winter landscapes. He explains, “The last time I remember experiencing that much snow in Edinburgh was in 2010, shortly before I rode from Edinburgh to Germany. That journey introduced me to the joys of cycling in winter. Since then I love going out there and enjoying the elements, and this winter proved to be a perfect opportunity for that, and sharing the elation in a new film.”

Watch the entire eight-minute film below, and then head over to Markus’ website BikepackingScotland.com to learn more about the project and the other routes they’ve planned.
