The Speed Project started as a unique running pilgrimage between Los Angeles and Las Vegas. It’s a 340-mile relay race with up to six runners per team, and the guiding principles have always been the same: teams must make their own route, there are no rules, and there are no spectators.
Last year, The Speed Project also held a cycling race following the same format, with the fastest teams equipped with support crews and detailed plans to cover the ground in the shortest time possible. Finley Newmark, Hannah Simon, and Mateo Páez decided to do things differently and rode the route totally unsupported and found the hardest route they could. Fully Unsupported was shot entirely by the three riders, documenting their 614-mile ride, which they completed in 65 hours and 57 minutes. Watch it below.
