The newest installment of Old Man Mountain’s Loam and Gravel Society series features Dawn Rae, Rob, and Max Knoth. The Knoths have been bikepacking as a family for close to eight years now, since Max was four years old, and they consistently spend around a month each year camping with their bikes. On this episode, host Karl Kroll and the Knoths head to Oregon’s Mt. Hood for an overnight bikepacking trip. They spend time swapping stories, foraging for mushrooms, hugging some very old trees, and watching the alpenglow and stars. Watch it below:

“It’s anything but fun when you’re doing it, but in retrospect when you’re dry, you’re warm, you’re not on the side of the highway, it’s gold.”
