It’s no secret that bikepacking and ultra-endurance racing can help us evade the complexities of everyday life, but what happens when those challenges catch up with you? In Bartosz Pawlik’s latest video, he documents Hannah Ghazi-Idrissi’s time racing the 2025 Race Through Poland. Each rider must reach four control points, but the route they take between them is their decision. Participants pedal around 1,500 kilometers through some of the most scenic areas of Poland, Germany, and the Czech Republic.
Hannah took time off from work for the race to escape some challenges she was facing back home. She expected that pushing herself on the bike would serve as a distraction, but she ultimately ditched that plan in order to take care of herself, enjoy the ride in a different way, and focus on the beauty of the experience. The 50-minute video below provides a personal look at her journey and her struggle to ride alongside a media crew, and what that means in an unsupported race.
