Melbourne, Australia-based Framework Designs just released two new basket bags: an updated version of their Sight Seeker and the Commuter, a basket bag that converts into a backpack/shoulder bag for commuters. Check them both out here…

Framework Designs is owned and operated by Tia Evans in Australia, who’s been designing and manufacturing high-quality, good-looking bags for bikepacking and commuting since 2018. Framework Designs just recently updated their basket bag lineup with a redesigned Sight Seeker and a completely new multi-purpose basket bag designed for commuters or anyone jumping between on and off the bike. Find details on both below.

Framework Designs Sight Seeker

The Sight Seeker is designed to fit Wald 137 baskets, but can also mount to racks with large platforms (like the Surly 24-Pack Rack / Soma Demi Rack) using the integrated webbing matrix base and two 20″ Voile straps. It uses a classic roll-top / G-hook closure, has expandable side pockets with magnetic Fidlock buckles, and two rear-facing pockets with storm flaps. Large velcro straps secure the bag securely to a Wald basket, and rot-resistant foam pads the sides and base of the bag. It’s constructed from Australian-made waterproof canvas and 1000D water-resistant nylon Cordura, has a water-resistant liner, and three internal pockets for organization. The Sight Seeker Carbon pictured here comes with black webbing and your choice of hardware (matte black or antique brass) and is also available in custom colours for an upcharge.

Framework Designs Commuter

As its name implies, the Framework Designs Commuter is designed for commuters. Like the Sight Seeker, it’s sized to fit a Wald 137 basket, but multi-functional is the name of the game as it can act as a shoulder bag, tote, and backpack when it’s not strapped into your basket. It has two massive side pockets with drainage holes, detachable backpack straps, and an internal padded laptop pocket. It features all of the same padding and webbing details as the Sight Seeker and also uses the same large velcro straps to secure the base to a Wald basket. It features the same construction, and the Carbon version pictured comes with your choice of hardware. Like the Sight Seeker, it’s available in custom colours for a small upcharge.
