8848 Women’s Challenge

The 8848 Women’s Challenge will take place from Friday 27th August at 6am to Saturday 28th August at 6pm, in the heart of the Pyrenees, in the city of Lourdes, South-West France. The aim is to cover 360 km with a total elevation gain of 8,848m in 36 hours. Yes, not the traditional Everesting challenge, but challenging all the same! It is not a race, everyone is a winner.

It’s a call for an epic ride, in a magnificent environment, for women who would like to test their capacities, go beyond their limits and succeed because of the unique opportunity and environment. Two formats to suit every type of rider. Non-stop geolocalisation and priority service at the local bike shop for any mechanical problems, a good reduction at “base camp”, a super confy hotel and a souvenir jersey from a high quality British brand. Bike hire is also possible. And we’ll close the event with a finishers’ get-together at base camp on Saturday night.

It’s a low-cost event but massive efforts from all people involved to make this as wonderful and memorable as possible. It’s a non-profit making event, 50€ only for the inscription which will cover the costs of organizing the event.

It is also open to ALL cyclists, but restricted to a total of 100, 50 places being reserved for women. So be quick !!!!
