Bike campers leave Homewood Izaak Walton Saturday morning (27–41 mi) riding car-free trails and lightly trafficked streets, returning (23 mi) Sunday morning. The routes are replete with restaurants, breweries, ice cream and playgrounds…the trail network of NW Indiana is wonderfully connected to all of it.

We encourage you to tote your own camping gear, it’s fun to figure out how to do that and you don’t need much: it’s just one overnight, and dinner and breakfast are catered by the regionally renowned Grindhouse Café. (Portage is available for a fee.)

It’s the perfect first bike camping trip; an easy car-free getaway with the kids; a quick bikepacking snack if you only have one weekend to get out of town; a fun shake down for testing your gear for a bigger trip. Just $55 for ages 13 and up, $20 for kids 8–12; littler squirts ride along for free. Limited to 60 bike campers. See you June 22!
