Registration just opened for the second annual Wilson’s Ramble, a 133-mile bikepacking ride through “the other Pisgah.” Learn more about the grand depart and reserve your spot here…

Maybe you’ve heard of our Wilson’s Ramble bikepacking route or regret missing last year’s group ride grand depart on this fabled ride? If so, now’s your chance to ramble. After a lot of deliberation and chatting with the good folks at Overmountain Cycles, we’ve decided to integrate it into their larger Barnburner Bike Fest in the fall (October 20th-22nd), the perfect time to ride this magical route. There will be food trucks and three breweries on site, live music, and much more.

Overmountain Cycles is hosting the Wilson’s Ramble group start for the second year, but from a new venue just a couple of miles up the road: the Linville Adventure Pasture in Nebo, North Carolina. “Bring your pals and come challenge yourself on this demanding yet gorgeous 133-mile route with nearly 15,000 feet of elevation gain.” You can find the route guide linked below, but note that it will be changing a little bit prior to the group start; details will go out to folks who’ve registered.

Participating riders are required to be self-sufficient. This is not an official event. There will be no aid stations or sag vehicles, and no one is responsible for your safety or location. People are welcome to do the ride at their own pace whether that’s two or three days (or five days, for that matter), but we’re starting together for fun. This group start is not a race, either. However, the first finishers should expect some exciting high fives and goodies at the finish.

There is free camping at race venue Friday, and the grand depart will roll out on Saturday October 21st at 8 a.m. We look forward to seeing everyone out there! Learn more about the Barnburner event and how to register and reserve your spot here.
