The fastest 2025 Ozark Gravel Doom riders are starting to cross the finish line, with Will Gavato and Morgan Chaffin taking the men’s and women’s crowns for the shortest official course, the Doom Dismay. For more on their triumphs, dive in below…

Doom 2025

Congratulations to Will Gavato and Morgan Chaffin, the official winners of the 2025 Ozark Gravel Doom Dismay, the shortest of the three course options featuring 113 miles and 13,000 feet of climbing! With times of 9 hours and 13 minutes, and 9 hours and 52 minutes, respectively, Will and Morgan are the first of those to cross the finish line of any Doom course in 2025. Considering the windy, cold start, the conditions were less than ideal for anything resembling bike riding. Days of biblical rains and brutal conditions made even the shortest courses in this year’s event to be gargantuan undertakings. So, for anyone thinking this day-ride-length course is easy, know these hills are nothing to scoff at.

Conditions will not significantly improve here in northwestern Arkansas until midday on Monday, so whoever remains upright and on course by tomorrow has a great chance of finishing. Yet, with a freeze warning tonight, who knows how many will remain.
