Salsa Cycles just announced the 2025 Timberjack and Rangefinder, which include updated build kits and paint jobs with complete builds priced at under $2,000. Learn more about these budget-friendly hardtail mountain bikes here…
The Salsa Timberjack and Rangefinder are the brand’s most affordable mountain bikes and the only hardtails in their currently lineup. The Timberjack packs a punch with a 140mm fork, 29 x 2.6″ tires, a relatively slack 66° headtube angle, a 1×12 drivetrain, and adjustable dropouts. The Rangefinder is slightly more affordable due to slightly cheaper components, fixed dropouts, and a 1×11 drivetrain—it’s more of an entry-level mountain bike with cross-country geometry. Both bikes make great bikepacking rigs. For 2025, Salsa hasn’t updated any frame specs or features for either model, but they have released new colors and build kits. Check out the latest 2025 Salsa Timberjack and 2025 Rangefinder below.
