In this Weekend Snapshot, we travel to South America, Africa, and Europe to join readers on bikepacking adventures. See what a few folks from our worldwide community were up to in their recent time off and share a photo from one of your rides here…
We never know where Weekend Snapshot will take us each Monday morning. Case in point: today’s installment is yet another world tour in three parts. This time, readers in Germany, Brazil, and Morocco share shots from recent exploits, and we join them in appreciating small moments from their rides. Find our latest collection of vignettes below. Once you’ve scanned them, we hope you’ll use the ultra-quick form to contribute to this series by sharing a scene from one of your rides!
Brazil

They cycled, cycled, cycled… they sunbathed a lot, took a lot of sea baths and met friends along the way. Life is made of encounters. Everything gets better! They were visited by many fruits: jackfruit, guajiru, mango, cashew, banana, mango, cashew, mango, cashew… and more mangoes. They crossed many, many rivers. Between dunes and cliffs. How great are the beaches when they meet the rivers? They were crossed Indigenous territories, admirable and reassuring places. They pushed their bikes on lots of soft sand under a strong, suffocating sun. But, as the poet says: everything is worth it if the soul is not small.
Germany

Morocco

Almost at the top of the climb between Tagmout and Ibn Yacoub at approximately kilometre 356 on the new and improved (and definitely much tougher) Route of Caravans South.
