Early this morning, Leigh Bowe took second place in the women’s category at the 2021 Colorado Trail Race, and just a few minutes ago, Karin Pocock rolled in to claim the third place finish. Find more details here…
Leigh Bowe and Karin Pocock were the next two finishers in the women’s category of the 2021 Colorado Trail Race, rolling to Waterton Canyon at about 5AM and 10AM, respectively. Hailing from Flagstaff, AZ, Bowe kept a solid lead over most of the riders in the women’s category throughout the race and claimed the second place spot early this morning, completing the ride in 7 days, 1 hour, and 3 minutes (7d:1h:3m). And just a few minutes ago, 41 year-old Karin Pocock from Blue River, CO, finished third with an official time of 7 days, 5 hours, and 35 minutes (7d:5h:35m). Karin turned on the gas yesterday and created a solid lead over now fourth place rider Kristen Tonsager. It appears that both Leigh and Karin rode through a good portion of the night, despite more bad weather and the threat of it getting even worse.
You may recall Leigh and Karin’s hardtails from our Rigs of the 2021 Colorado Trail Race roundup. Leigh’s “mullet” Why Cycles S7 is particularly memorable with a 29er wheel up front and a 27.5 in the back. Karin’s Chameleon and extremely minimal kit is also quite impressive.
