While riding the Oregon Timber Trail last year, Chris Wilson had to bypass the Lodgepole Trail section due to lack of maintenance, with tons of blowdown making progress nearly impossible. This summer, his curiosity got the best of him, and he returned to the area to experience it by bike and fish some of the section’s many lakes.
His 20-minute Bikepacking the Lodgepole Lollipop video documents a Fourth of July weekend overnighter that encompasses many miles of backcountry singletrack, a good deal of pushing, fly fishing in a couple of lakes, and a windy night in his tent.
