Bontrager’s new Adventure Bag collection replaces their original lineup, which was released back in 2019. While the new lineup is designed for seamless integration with the new Trek Checkpoint, which was also released today, each bag includes the necessary straps and versatile design that should work with most bikes out there. The bags all feature waterproof materials (but not a waterproof construction), rugged and durable construction, and high-quality hardware that’s designed to last.
Bontrager Adventure Saddle Bag
The Adventure Saddle Bag uses a tried and true design with buckle straps around the saddle rails and a large hook-and-loop strap around the seatpost. It relies on a roll-top closure, but also has some unique zippered openings on the side for quick access. There’s a small stretchy cargo net on top for lashing down extra gear and a webbing strap on the back for attaching a tail light. The Saddle Bag has an MSRP of $119.99 and can hold up to 9L of gear.
Bontrager Adventure Boss Frame Bag
The new Adventure Boss Frame Bag replaces Bontrager’s existing frame bag and is offered in six different sizes that match up perfectly with the new Checkpoint. With a capacity ranging from 1.3L all the way to 5.9L, the frame bag can be mounted via the included straps or bolted in directly for a super clean setup. Bontrager sells optional thumb screws separately for those who need them. It has a high-vis liner, multiple smaller storage sleeves for organization, and all straps are removable and adjustable for different bikes. The Adventure Boss Frame Bag has an MSRP of $99.99.
Bontrager Handlebar Bag
The Bontrager Handlebar Bag has a one-sided roll-top closure and webbing attachment that looks simple yet effective. It has 9.7L of storage and includes a 1.5L HydraPak water bladder that tucks away into a zippered pocket. There’s a zipper on the front of the bag for quick-access, a Hypalon daisy chain and bungee across the top for lashing extra layers or other gear, and a magnetic hose attachment for keeping the hydration bladder port in check on bumpy roads. The Handlebar Bag has an MSRP of $119.99.
