Following its release last week, we’re giving away a full Advent MX 11-speed mountain bike drivetrain courtesy of microSHIFT for Collective Reward #235. Find full details and sign up to support our work as a member of the Bikepacking Collective for a chance to win here…

Late last month, microSHIFT fully revamped their Advent and Advent X mountain bike drivetrains, promising better shifting, increased durability, and a wider range. They released them as the new Advent MX and Advent MX Black, and Neil spent time with the 11-speed Advent MX drivetrain before publishing a full review. In short, he found it easy to install and a joy to use out on the trail. Based on his enthusiasm for the brand’s latest release, we lined up a full drivetrain for one randomly selected member of the Bikepacking Collective in our latest giveaway, a $245 value for our lucky winner.

The new Advent MX platform embraces microSHIFT’s longtime commitment to creating wide-range drivetrains that prioritize serviceability and affordability over bleeding-edge technology and ever-changing standards, while still pushing the brand forward and making small but impactful improvements with each release. The new microSHIFT Advent MX and MX Black are their most robust systems to date and are intended to suit everyone from expedition bikepackers who are hard on gear to racers seeking a trustworthy system with more precise shifting.

Picking up where the 10-speed Advent system leaves off, the new 11-speed Advent MX features a completely redesigned cassette—four of them, in fact—with bi-directional shift ramps for smoother action up and down. It also has a reimagined rear derailleur that now uses a cable redirection pulley and a horizontal parallelogram shape, helping it track more consistently across the cassette, improving chain stability, and maintaining smoother shifts under load. The redesigned trigger shifter now operates up to four times faster than its predecessor. Our winner will take home an Advent MX rear derailleur, shifter, and their choice of cassette. You can explore full details about the new drivetrain over at microSHIFT.com.
